New Lighting in Partnership with Main Contractor

Modernising the Lighting on Two Floors of Office Space

We carried out an initial survey of the site to highlight any potential issues before quoting the works as the client wanted to be aware of all aspects of the build to avoid any surprise charges throughout the project.

On the back of the survey we put forward a lighting design as the existing dali systems were not operating correctly, and the emergency lighting was not being switched correctly. We then carried out the works, receiving good feedback along the way.

Supply and Install of a Complete New Lighting System

We supplied and installed a complete new lighting system including LED panels, combined emergency panels and feature pendants using a click flow system for easy maintenance.

Lighting included:

PIR switching in communal areas, and standard light switches in meeting rooms
New sockets, both flush mounted and within dado trunking within newly formed rooms
New power for print hubs and tea stations
New power within the floor void to serve new desking positions
HDMI links between meeting desks and TV’s within meeting areas

Taking Care of All Aspects of Design/Installation

Saracen wanted an electrical contractor who could take care of all aspects of the design/installation including lighting and emergency lighting designs. This was important on this job due to Aggreko’s background, and their need for all aspects of the job to be designed and installed to meet all regulations, especially office lighting lux levels.

As with all projects of this nature you don’t know what will be unearthed until you get on site and investigate and as it was important to make sure there were no surprises, Aggreko paid to do full site survey first.

LED lighting Much More Efficient

We carried out a lighting energy comparison for this site, and the new LED lighting came out a lot better than the old fluorescent fittings. Also helped by the fact that due to the old dali system not working, the existing lights were on 24 hours a day.

Aggreko were extremely pleased with the work and came back for help with additional works. This is an excellent example of the value of a collaborative relationship with a main contractor and client to achieve a project on time and on budget.
