A long-standing independent client was looking to relocate to a new location further up the road from their existing site. Within this process, they were also partnering with Premier Foods, which is part of the Booker Group.
The idea was to give them a more recognised brand through merchandising and marketing expertise. The new site was a lot larger than the existing site, with better means of access, so the project made commercial sense.
The original shop was over 20 years old and the new building was an old funeral parlour that had been vacant for months.
Working alongside our sister company, Total Design Shopfitting, we were tasked with designing the whole electrical system, including Distribution Boards, Small Power, Lighting, Data, and Fire Alarm System. This work included the design drawings, certification and testing as well as the CDM, building control and planning applications.
The customer wanted a fresh, modern, sleek, high tech looking store that will stand the stand the test of time in the years to come.
We bring all the elements of an electrical project together, taking the stress away from the client, who wanted a compliant store without any hassle. In addition we have a lot of experience and knowledge of low energy products that don’t cost the earth.
The client had not completed a refit of this size and needed a company they could trust to guide them through the intricacies of planning a new electrical design and following it through to completion.
One of the challenges was making use of the available incoming power to good effect by not overloading circuits and underusing others. The funky lighting the client wanted needed to meet REGS and not eat up too much power.
All of the lighting we installed was LED and on PIR’s meaning nothing was lit up unless it needed to be.
